Four National Register of Historical Places are within walking distance; Ohio Historical Society's Benjamin Hanby House State Memorial, Towers Hall on the Otterbein Campus, Everal Farm Buildings at Heritage Park, and the Otterbein Mausoleum. You might choose to stop by the Anti-Saloon League Museum and discover why Westerville is known to many as the 'Dry Capital of the World'. Nature Preserves / Trails--You may decide to visit any of the many City of Westerville Parks or one of the three nearby Metro Parks: Blendon Woods which includes the Walden Waterfowl Refuge observation shelter; Sharon Woods includes the 3.8 mile bike/jogging trail and Schrock Lake; or Inniswoods Metro Gardens that is a 92-acre showplace of horticultural gardens and a nature preserve. Theater--Otterbein College Theatre www.otterbein.edu/dept/thr/ has always been a major influence on life in Westerville. Otterbein's arts programs are recognized nationally for their professionalism and for the many guest artists featured on campus. A professional artist series offers acclaimed performers in the areas of music, theater and dance. In addition, the college annually produces six major theater productions, including a full-scale musical, a children's theater performance, four summer theater shows, over 30 music concerts and recitals, Opera Theater, a dance concert and 10 art exhibits.
